Chocolate - It's like sex but you don't have to shave your legs....
I don't really buy into the whole commercial Easter festival thingybubs; I am open minded on the whole theory of an enity bigger than ourselves, and although there may well have been a chap in a white robe roaming around Jerusalem who ended up singing "Always look on the Bright Side of Life".. I do know one fact:
CHOCOLATE
That's it - you don't need to know anything else, and so to celebrate all things Easter, choccy and indulgent here is the recipe for Malteser Cake from the HfH Kitchen - nom nom nom
50g Maltesers
150g Milk Chocolate (or White Chocolate)
150g Dark Chocolate
120g Butter
3tbs Golden syrup
150g Plain biscuits - I used Hob Nobs (other brands available)
Melt the butter, chocolate and syrup in a bain marie
Crumble the biscuits and add to the chocolate mixture giving it a big stir
Line a baking tin (square is better for cutting equal portions) with greaseproof paper and transfer the mixture evenly. Gently press the Maltesers onto the top
Put it into the fridge for a few hours. When solid take out of the tin and using a sharp knife cut into portions
**Disclaimer: It's not very healthy, but it is very scrummy
Easy peasy, no cooking and little prepartation - what's not to like?
